I was summoned. The angel came to me. He said again, "Someone wants to meet you," so it's obvious it's somebody I didn't know, had not met before in heaven. We walked the steps and the angel said, "Just don't try to figure it out." When am I going to learn to not try to figure things out, just be ready? So I waited and watched all the wonderful people. They are so happy, children playing, everyone hugging and visiting, the music and the trumpets blowing, and the beautiful animals.
Then, here comes someone toward me.....I don't know who it is. He said, "You don't know me, but I know you. You have heard what I heard. I heard the voice of God, and you did too." That puzzled me and he said, "Don’t try to figure it out. I will tell you a story about people, some believers and some not. Some will believe with all their heart, and others, they thought they did believe, but they would get mad at God. My name is Lazarus.
"You have a calling because of Who you heard speak to you. Remember your accident? You heard the voice of God three times. So did I.” Lazarus said, “I saw you walk like I did. I saw how the people feared you and walked away standing against the wall. I saw that the people wouldn't shake your hand, and that the doctor didn't know what to do with you. So he decided to send you somewhere else to help you. There was testimony after testimony of what you went through. But you never forgot did you, the voice of God?” I said, 'I never have.' He asked, "do you believe God?" 'Yes,' I answered.
"What does the Father mean to you? You were told about certain Scriptures (Matthew 6, the Lord's Prayer, and Psalm 23) learn them, study them. See what the Father means to you. Let me see you. The others are right, I see what they are talking about. Do not fear what people say or don't say. You have a calling. You keep your head up all the time. But I will see you soon." That's when I woke up back in my body.
Ruben: And it was true. When I woke up (came back to life) in the hospital two of the nurses came into the room giggling. Then they saw me and said, "he's alive!" I sat up on the side of the bed, stood and began to walk like Lazarus because my feet were still tied with a rope, so I was taking baby steps, moving like Lazarus when he came forth from the tomb, bound. The nurses wouldn't shake my hand because of fear, they didn't know any better. But I walked in the hall from one end to the other then back into the room. They found the doctor. He walked in scratching his head, he couldn't figure me out. So he said he was sending me to rehab. So it was miracle after miracle.
I think what got my attention was what he spoke about faith and people not believing. Lazarus had two sisters. Both had faith, but then one began doubting—doubting God. But Lazarus knew in his heart there was a purpose for all this, why Jesus didn't come right away. He knew in his heart, he did. But we, as humans, can't understand in our hearts why this, why now? Because the Shekinah glory of God has to manifest. Not for us, for Him. His sisters were upset. One was upset with Christ when He got there. But one said, "even now, if you speak." She believed in her heart, soul and mind. Why can't we? She knew, Lord, even if You speak it now—But Christ had a purpose. They had to see the Son of God come forth. Then, because Christ had the authority, and used wisdom, He called Lazarus by name. Can you imagine if He didn't what else might have come forth?
Let's not take this lightly, but guard and cherish it, and be ready for it when the time comes. Because the thing is, in honest truth, don't let God give it to someone else. Because of the thoughts of, 'what would they think, what would they say.' That's how you lose it. Me, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If someone won't listen to me, someone else will. Someone will sing with me, worship with me, dance like King David with me. Little by little I'm beginning to understand why these men and women in heaven are sharing with me. It's cruel in this world, it's cruel! Think what Christ went through with His own people. It was cruel! It hurt His heart and soul and spirit! But He shook it off and kept on because He had a destiny, destiny for you and me. That's my Master, my Savior, my Redeemer! No matter who believes or not, I believe! He's asking, “Will you walk with Me?” God knows our hearts. The only reason He asks that question is He knows we will.
