Ruben was summoned. He walked the steps behind the angel who told him, “Sit right here, you know the routine.” While waiting he wonders who will come to meet him, and he gets to see a lot of people who are full of joy; smiling, laughing, embracing one another. They wave at him and he can wave back, but not speak to them. Then someone comes walking toward him. It’s a woman. They sit down and she says, “You don’t know who I am?” Ruben replied, “No, I don’t know who you are; you’re beautiful.” She said, “Let me see what they are talking about.” She stared at him and said, “It is true.” Ruben said, “My name is Ruben Domingos.” She said, “Yes, I know who you are, but you don’t know who I am. My name is Mary Magdalene.”
Ruben said, “I guess I should have known because you have this basket and these jars—they smell good too.” She said, “Yes, this is oil, the oil I used on my Master, and this is my hair that I used to wipe my Master’s feet. I want to make it clear so you can take it and tell your friends, because there are so many untruths; that my Master and I, there was nothing going on between us. I was serving him as a servant. When He forgave me it spoke to my heart, my spirit, and my soul as nothing ever before. You should know that.” Ruben asked, “What do you mean?” She said, “Remember when you were lying in the bed in the hospital? (Refers to Ruben’s accident years before when he died and then heard the voice of God saying, “Awaken. Awaken. Awaken.”
Mary Magdalene said, “I just want you and everyone to know that my Master is Who He says He is.” And then she just leaned forward, put her elbows on her knees, her face in her hands and said, “I need to see one more time what everyone sees.” She stared and stared, then said, “It’s real. In return, let me embrace you.” Ruben said, “I just let her do all the embracing.” She said, “I want to give you something.” She opened one of the jars of oil and anointed my feet. I was just like frozen! I didn’t know how to take it in, but she knew what I was thinking and said, “It’s OK. I want to give you something, this is my gift to you, because as you walk and travel these feet will be anointed for every step you take.” And then, like the other women who have come forth to visit, she shed one tear from her right eye.
Ruben shared: It’s hard to grasp. They cry. It’s a tear of joy, gladness, and of love. It’s tremendous. It’s hard to explain, I have no idea how to explain. Even when they read my mind you know, it’s hard for me to grasp. Mary said, “Don’t try to figure this out. Just receive it. Receive what you see. Receive what you hear. That’s what you do. Be blessed my brother. I will see you again.”
