Note: This is not a Summons Message, but a question asked by Holy Spirit through Ruben. The entire question is: “Are we devoted to the Father; or only when we’re in trouble, when we need Him?”

I am learning that in some way all of the Summons Messages and these ‘Question Messages’ have a common thread that connects them. Therefore I felt led to include excerpts from John Wesley’s Summons Message of 8/9/20, and Kim Clement’s Question Message of 2/3/20, “Do We Remember What We Say?”
John Wesley: “But it’s a commitment. You’re all in or not. Because the Father is a jealous God. He doesn’t want part of you He wants all. All! That’s why it took me a while to understand where I needed to be. To give all of myself. Did I? I had to go through things. I had to learn. I had to stumble just like everybody else. You have to stumble. You have to go through test after test, and realize and ask the Father, what is His will, not mine. What is His will, and not mine! It’s a commitment to sell out yourself, mind, spirit and heart and soul. To give it all, give it all.”
Kim Clement: “Do we remember what we say? We say things. We promise. We commit to this and to that. And then we forget. Do we mean what we say, or do we just in a moment of desperation, sadness or tragedy reach out to Yeshua and promise and commit? Why do we have to be in a moment of tragedy or sadness? Because do you not think that Yeshua has a heart and has feelings? How do you think He feels watching us say the same old thing over and over? Do you think He gets disappointed in us? We say, but yet we don’t fulfill it! Do we not think that He has a heart that feels and cares because we’re not committed?”
“Then Jehu said, “Now come with me, and see how devoted I am to the Lord.” So Jehonadab rode along with him.”
2 Kings 10:16 NLT
“Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God.”
Psalms 86:2 NLT
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.”
Matthew 6:24 NLT
“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.”
Acts of the Apostles 2:42 NLT
“Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.”
Isaiah 55:6 NLT
